During the course of the mandatory periods of military service, civil service or civil protection, workers shall be entitled to be paid an indemnity equal to 80% of their salary subject to AVS, according to their usual number of hours worked as defined by the Bernese scale, i.e.:

This indemnity shall be paid provided that an uninterrupted 3-month employment relationship has preceded or a work contract exceeding a 3-month period has been concluded. During the period in question, the federal indemnity APG (an allowance forloss of earnings) shall apply to the employer.
In all other cases, workers shall recei-ve an indemnity from APG (the federal compensation scheme) without any supplement.
Regardless, payment shall only be made in favour of the workers in question provided that their compensation card has been duly filled in, signed and forwarded to the employer.
